If you are anything like me, you might be curious as to why ASH is on the nutrition label. I was baffled when I received my nutrition label from RL Foods Testing, so I looked into this and what I learned.

The ASH refers to the minerals and vitamins in the treat. The sample submitted is heated to extreme temperatures that remove the moisture, volatiles, and organics. The ash that remained contained the minerals and vitamins in the sample.
